Why I started a blog!

Well, I have decided to start a blog, all because I don't want to start my own website. As some of you know, I design things for all my friends and family when there is a baby born, wedding to plan or even just a simple Valentine's Day card or Christmas card I am the one they all call. I love designing these things and I thought to myself.... "Could I do this for other people, and maybe make a few bucks doing it?" And in the words of my nephew's favorite show, Thomas the Train, "I think I can!"....So as of March 13, 2010 I am starting a blog to promote my new hobby: "AGAPE DESIGNS"

My roomate Whitney (Huff) Phelps helped me come up with the name for my blog and name for all my invitations, programs, and cards and I think it's really cute.AGAPE is defined in my logo, its LOVE in its fullest form. One reason why we came up with this name is because the majority of my creations deal with babies, weddings and Christmas...AGAPE Love is definitely present at those times!

Just Jordan!

Jordan is one of my many good friends at work and when it came time for her wedding we got busy, busy, busy!
Jordan to date has been one of my best "customers". First we started out with just a Bridesmaid Luncheon and Rehearsal dinner invitations, and lucky for me she liked them so much she asked me to do her wedding invitations, programs, and thank you notes! It turned out so cute, everything matched and had the theme she wanted to carry throughout the whole wedding. This was so much fun not only to be part of their big day but to create something that matched Jordan and Matt's personality.

(She didn't tell me this, but I think the polka dots were a simple substitute for the University of Alabama's famous houndstooth??) (thank you notes)

Oliver is 3! WOW....

I'm going to do an Oliver section, after all he is what got me doing all this stuff in the 1st place. Since it's summer I thought I would show you my newest invitation for his 3rd Birthday party (that blows my mind by the way). We are doing a car wash theme, it may sound weird but it's going to be super cute, I'll post pictures after the party!

OLIVER'S CARWASH!
Although it's not the "season" I wanted to share with you these other 3 things I have done for my sister/Oliver! If you know me at all you know Oliver has brightened up my life in so many ways. There isn't much he does that I don't want to flip video, take a picture of or call someone and tell them how funny, cute, adorable, and sweet he is. Since his first Christmas I convinced my sister to let me take responsibility for her Christmas cards....and thankfully everyone has loved them, SO FAR! I think you will see why everything he does is so adorable!!!!

Wedding programs

This isn't quite as fun as invitations, but they are so helpful at weddings. Several of my friends have hesitated with programs for their big day....and each time I tell them...."You need one!" It's so nice to be at a wedding and have a guide for what is about to happen.

...Then comes the baby, in a baby carriage!

I'm at the time of my life where my friends are married and having babies, babies, babies! Isn't it fun! These shower invitations are Pink, pink, pink! :) Why? Because....IT'S A GIRL!

If it's not a girl...it must be a bouncing baby boy... here is a cute little invitation I did for a good friend of mine that I work with. In our down time we think of different designs we would like to see. She came up with this one and its just precious. I owe alot of my business to her :) ....she is a party planning fool! I love the wording on this one and the little bird family. So sweet.

And sometimes we want the surprise of our lives....That was the case for one of my best friends and old roomates Katie. She and her husband Clay wanted to wait until they their baby was born to find out what they were having....so I did a gender neutral card for them. They ended up having a little girl, Addison in September, so after that there was no more green and yellow they are living in a pink world and loving it.

First comes LOVE....Then comes MARRIAGE

FIRST COMES LOVE...THEN COMES MARRIAGE:

I would love to say that this is the story of my life, but unfortunately I am more along the lines of "always the bridesmaid never the bride" :) But with that comes a lot of fun. I really embraced my time as a bridesmaid and learned what throwing a shower was like. One way I learned to cut the cost a little bit was to do my own invitations. I learned that not only were my invites not $2.00 a piece, but they were totally customized to the themes of the showers, teas, backyard cook outs etc.

Here are a few of the wedding showers that we threw, I didn't save all of them but here are some that I found.

**If you are interested I can copy anything you see, or we can come up with something totally different. :)
